As part of its effort to promote transparency and streamline probate processes, the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has released new official requirements for the issuance of Letters of Administration. A Letter of Administration is a document that authorizes the persons named in it to manage and distribute the estate of a deceased person who died without making a valid will. It is also required to manage the estate of a deceased person that was not covered in the deceased’s valid will.
According to the Public Notice published by the Probate Registry of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory and posted in the notice boards of the court, applicants must meet several documentation and procedural requirements before they can be granted a Letter of Administration.
